Its core principle is to maximize heat exchange efficiency between the coolant and the forced airflow by significantly increasing the effective cooling surface area (composed of dense fins) and optimizing the aerodynamic pathways. The coolant carries engine heat into the radiator core, where the heat is transferred via conduction from the coolant tubes to the fins, and is then rapidly dissipated by the high-speed passing air through convection. This highly efficient energy transfer process consistently maintains the coolant temperature within the engine's optimal operating range, forming the physical foundation that enables the high-power engine of the CAT 793D to perform effectively.
